Passed away suddenly on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Superior Township, MI. She was born in Ypsilanti, MI on October 1, 1941. She is the daughter of Gordon Ervin Wortley and Helen Louise James Wortley. She is survived by her brother Gordon (Karen) and her niece Lindsey (Christopher). Her parents and niece, Kyriann Lewis, predeceased her.
Helen was a fierce advocate for all in need and a fun-loving, well-traveled, good-humored philanthropist at heart. A long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, Helen was deeply religious and actively involved in the church's choir and community events. In addition to her work with the church, she worked for many years as a legal secretary and was a treasured part of every office she worked with. She is loved by many and the memories of her kindness, humor, and good nature continue to honor her spirit.
Burial will take place in her family plot in Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to your local animal shelter, the Humane Society, or the American Cancer Society. The best tribute you can give is to be kind to each other.
