A roadtrip and quest to find the Nel family farms. Discovering my 4x great grandfather JAN NEL 1796- 1881 and his daughter in law my 3x great grandmother, ELSIE ALETTA SOPHIA NEL nee LUBBE graves on Commissiedrift was quite amazing. I had to partially dig out Jan's grave stone to read the inscription at the bottom and fight off the black ants. So here are some of photos of the graveyard and the surrounding buildings. There were also some more modern graves of the MARX family. Alot of the graves had no headstones or visible inscriptions. Some were just piles of rocks.
