As she was 18 when my father (William H.) was born, in many ways she was
a pseudo mother and had a special place in her heart for him until her dying
day. Even tho she moved around the north with her partner Norbert Bailey, they
eventually moved back to Preston in her 50 s and remained there. She became
Roman Catholic as Norbert was religious, and amusingly, once Norbert's first
wife died, after 25 years together they finally got married. (Michael Wortley)
