George Edward "Judd" Wortley, 80, of Remington passed away Thursday, May 27, 1999 at 10:40 a.m. at the White County Hospital in Monticello after collapsing while playing golf.
He was a lifelong resident of Jordan Township and Remington. For the past 20 years, he had stayed at Clearwater, Fla., for the winter.

Born December 23, 1918 in Jordan Township to Arthur and Bell (Bullis) Wortley, George Wortley married Mildred Baxter on March 15, 1941. His wife survives.
He was a maintenance engineer for several years for several hotels and servedd as a U.S. Navy See Bee from 1942-1945. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Remington, an avid Chicago Bulls fan and golfer and enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

He is survived by two sisters, Anna Ferne Hutchingson of Floral City, Fla., and Evelyn Duggins of Rochester, Ind.; and one brother, Clarence Wortley of Floral City, Fla.
He was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services for George Wortley will be Saturday, May 29, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Stitz Funeral Home in Remington. Masonic Chaplain will officiate.

Mildred F. Wortley, 95, of Lafayette, formerly of Remington, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus of West Lafayette. She was born July 26, 1921 in Benton County, IN to the late Orvel and Opal (Wooden) Baxter. She was a 1939 graduate of Remington High School.

Her marriage was to the late George J. Wortley. He preceded her in death.

Mildred was a member of the Remington United Methodist Church. In her earlier years, Mildred worked as a beautician.  Mildred enjoyed spending her time crafting, canning, making homemade jelly, and wintering in Florida with her husband George.

She is survived by a brother, Willard Baxter of Lafayette, IN; sister, Marjorie (Baxter) Doyle of Kankakee, IL.  Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband is a brother, Keith Baxter.   (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/168673529/mildred-fern-wortley)
