Obituary
Lester Ivan Wortley, was born Dec. 18, 1906 on a farm in Jordan township, Jasper County, and passed away on Feb. 17, 1938. He was the son of Albert E. and Emma Myers Wortley. He attended the grade schools of Jordan Twp., and the Remington High Shool. When a young boy he united with the Remington Christian Church and continued steadfast in his belief througout his life. On Dec. 28, 1928 he was united in marriage to Gladys Ann Kennedy. To this union were born two children, Lester Ivan and Emma May. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bernice Ogle.
Surviving are the wife and two children; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Myers; a cousin, Oscar, who was reared in the home as a bother; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Remington Christian church, Rev. Marshall Weaver officiating. Burial was made in the Remington cemetery.
He was killed in a car crash. d. accidental burns 3rd degree
