J. Frank Fenwick, 75, former township trustee of Jordan township and a former state highway superintendent in the Rensselaer district, died in his home, 512 South Harrison Street, Rensselaer, at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. He had been in failing health five years and critically ill two weeks.

Born in Jordan township, he lived on a farm there for 62 years until moving to Rensselaer in 1949.

He was trustee of Jordan township for eight years and was trustee at the time the schools were consolidated and the present Jordan school built. He was superintendent of state highways in the area for several years and formerly was a member of the Jasper County hospital board. He was a member of the Church of God and Jordan township Farm Bureau and was active in many community affairs. He was married to Anna Wortley in 1902.

Surviving with the widow are three sons, John O., of Phoenix, Ariz., and Charles and Frank of Goodland, and six daughters, Mrs. Johnston Ferguson, Fowler, Mrs. William Campbell, Rensselaer, Miss Ferne Fenwick, at home, Mrs. W. O. Brown, Sullivan, Mrs. Joseph Schwartz, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Joseph Padgett, Park Forest, Ill.; also 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Jackson funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. H. Earl Moore officiating, and burial will be in Weston cemetery.  (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/57311875/joseph-franklin-fenwick)
