Zella Wortley Peterson, 86, of Jacksonville, FL passed away July 17, 2001. She was born February 4, 1915 in Belleville, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Mary Wortley and stepfather Arthur Lewis. Her beloved brother Edmond preceded her in death in 1965. She is survived by her husband of 59 years John W. (Bill) Peterson, son, Eric G. Peterson and his wife Patricia of Jacksonville, three grandchildren,. Karen P. Wolf, (Chris) of Chicago, Brian J. Peterson (Kristen) of Atlanta and Jill A. Peterson of Jacksonville, sister in law Noreen Wortley of Stanwood, WA, sister in law Vivian Blatti of Witchita, KS and seven nieces Kathy Kirk (John), Rosalie Hall (Herald), and Ann Hennings (Steven), Josephine Blatti, Shelia Fox (Raymond), Michelle Blatti, and nephew Michael Blatti, (Sandy). She was married in 1942 in Croswell, MI and settled in the Detroit area following Bills service in the US Navy on the Satterlee in WWII. Her life long passion was wife, homemaker and mother to her family. She enjoyed gardening and observing wild life at their home in Bloomfield Hills. She was a potter and enjoyed other crafts with friends that decorated their home. They were member of the Franklin Community Church. She and Bill moved to Jacksonville in 2000 to be near Patti and Eric. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to United Way Community Services 1212 Griswold, Detroit, MI 482261899 (313) 2269400.
