On 20 July 1731, a couple of months before they moved, Lady Mary and her husband attended to a huge volume of business. Among documents they sighned and sealed that day were leases of property to tenants including Wortley’s sister-in-law Agnes Wortley alias Montagu of Exeter, and a mortgage of property held in trust for Agnes's two daughters.
